Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)— Every year, it is my pleasure to sponsor Community Service Awards for year 12 school leavers at high schools in the Charlestown electorate.
The Community Service Award goes to young people who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to supporting their school community in a wide range of endeavours.
It comes with a gift voucher for an excellent book shop in the Charlestown electorate, Harry Hartog. I would like to acknowledge the 2023 recipients: Linus Deeming of Kotara High School; Zo Lennon Hatchman of Hunter Sports High; Matthew McKinnon of Warners Bay High School; and Oliver Morrison of Whitebridge High School.
Each of these exceptional young people were nominated by their schools for their achievements, and it is my absolute pleasure to recognise them for all their hard work. I hope each of them was able to get some rest and relaxation over the school holidays in amongst the study ahead of their exams.
I wish them all the best for the HSC, as well their future learning and careers. I'm sure I'll hear more about these exceptional young people in the years to come!
A Community Recognition Notice is an opportunity for an MP to submit a short statement praising the work of an individual or group in the local community. If you have any ideas about people I can recognise with a Community Recognition Notice, please email and let me know!
