Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)— Every year, young people from public schools across the Hunter gather to put on Star Struck: a showcase of all the extraordinary talent our public school students have to offer in dance, drama, music and stage production.
In 2023, Star Struck put on its thirty-first arena spectacular with the theme of Ignite. And the performers and stage workers absolutely lived up to that theme, setting the Newcastle Entertainment Centre alight with colour, music and movement. A big thank you to the organisers and supporters for helping make Star Struck such a success for over three decades.
Many schools in the Charlestown electorate contributed to Star Struck Ignite, and I would like to congratulate the students and supporting staff from: Adamstown Public School, Belair Public School, Cardiff Public School, Cardiff South Public School, Charlestown East Public School, Charlestown Public School, Charlestown South Public School, Dudley Public School, Eleebana Public School, Garden Suburb Public School, Kahibah Public School, Kotara High School, Kotara South Public School, Mount Hutton Public School, Warners Bay High School, Warners Bay Public School, Whitebridge High School and Windale Public School. What a fabulous event and here's to many more Star Struck extravaganzas!
