Recognising St John Ambulance

16 February 2022

Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown)—St John Ambulance is Australia's leading supplier of first aid products, services and learning and, over the course of their 139-year history have done so much for our community. The Charlestown electorate is home to the Warners Bay Division.

These amazing volunteers help out at events as far afield as Tamworth, Taree and Port Macquarie, and towards the end of last year members assisted with flooding in the Upper Hunter. When I was offered the chance to help support them in their work by helping them obtain a new vehicle through the Community Building Partnership Program, I jumped at the opportunity.

The new seven-seater diesel four wheel drive will help the local teams get to places normal vehicles can't, and provide the Warners Bay Division, and other local divisions, with lots of capacity to deliver care.

A big thank you to those who welcomed me to the Warners Bay Division so I could check out the new vehicle: Superintendent of Warners Bay Division Lynn Howlett, Superintendent of Lake Macquarie Cadet Division Damien Wardrope; Sergeant of University of Newcastle Division Scott Dodd; Grade V1 Officer Lake Macquarie Cadets Bruce Hounslow and Riley Petherbridge of the Lake Macquarie Cadets.

A Community Recognition Notice is an opportunity for an MP to submit a short statement praising the work of an individual or group in the local community. If you have any ideas about people I can recognise with a Community Recognition Notice, please email and let me know!
