Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)— Congratulations to Warners Bay local Michael Nolan, whose vocal studio was awarded the gong for Champion Music Tuition at the Australian Small Business Champion Awards in Sydney last month.
Michael was there to pick up his award in Sydney in front of more than 1000 guests. The COVID-19 pandemic was difficult for many entertainment-centred businesses and for Michael to turn it around and achieve this national recognition is exceptional.
Michael's vocal studio aims to encourage and enhance expression through singing and excellence of vocal performance and develops singers from eight years old. The Michael Nolan Vocal Studio Showcase is always a great annual event to attend. Michael has previously been recognised as Young Business Person of the Year at the Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards and was named Citizen of the Year for Lake Macquarie in 2019 for his contributions to the performing arts.
I know the difference Mr Nolan can make to young people's lives through singing as my son was actually one of his students. I can truly vouch for his ability to work with people from all walks of life.
Thank you and congratulations, Michael!
