Lauren Burrows

Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—Today, I'd like to recognise Lauren Burrows, who truly kicks goals for the Dudley Redhead Junior Rugby League Club. Lauren wears many hats—canteen coordinator, fundraiser, First Aid Officer, League Safe Officer, and even coach. As a busy mum of four boys and a Learning Support Officer at a local primary school, Lauren somehow finds the time and passion to be the heartbeat of the Mighty Magpie Juniors. Lauren's commitment shines brightest on Amber Day, a special annual event in memory of Amber Hughes, a former Magpie who lost her battle with DIPG. Thanks to Lauren's tireless efforts, the club has raised nearly $50,000 over the past two years for RUN DIPG, Amber's chosen charity. For a small community club, that's no small feat and Lauren's drive makes all the difference. Her unwavering dedication to the kids and our community inspires us all. We're incredibly lucky to have someone as committed and spirited as Lauren leading our youth forward.

A Community Recognition Notice is an opportunity for an MP to submit a short statement praising the work of an individual or group in the local community. If you have any ideas about people I can recognise with a Community Recognition Notice, please email and let me know!
