Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—I would like to acknowledge Whitebridge High School HSC student Kienna Clegg, who was recognised with a Minister's Award for Excellence in Student Achievement at the 2024 NSW Public Education Awards. The Public Education Awards are an important opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the amazing work of our teachers, school communities and other staff who each day work together to bring out the best in our students. Kienna achieved a Band 6 result in her accelerated HSC course last year and is on track for an outstanding HSC result. She is also a representative netballer, an elected school captain and engages with our local community—in April, she ran 150km raising money for children living with cancer in support of the wonderful charity, Charlie's Run for Kids. According to her award citation, Kienna is a student others aspire to be like and teachers want to have in their class. I have no trouble believing that! Congratulations, Kienna—I wish you all the best for your HSC and your future studies!
A Community Recognition Notice is an opportunity for an MP to submit a short statement praising the work of an individual or group in the local community. If you have any ideas about people I can recognise with a Community Recognition Notice, please email and let me know!
