Jodie Congratulates Local Primary School Sports Association Champions

19 November 2019

Today I tabled a Community Recognition Statement in the Parliament of New South Wales congratulating local participants in theNew South Wales Primary School Sports Associations Athletics Championships held earlier this month in Sydney. This is what I said:

I am very proud to congratulate some very talented young sports people from my electorate of Charlestown who competed in the New South Wales Primary School Sports Associations (PSSA) Athletics Championships held at Sydney Olympic Park on the 6th and 7th of November 2019.

The NSW PSSA provides opportunities for primary aged students to participate in competitive sport at State level and above.

Kahibah Public Schools Ava Ross won gold medal in the 11 years girls 100 metres in an outstanding time of 13.31 seconds. Hillsborough Public Schools Amelia Roberts finished 3rd in the 12 years girls 100 metres. Liam Martin from St Pauls School in Gateshead finished a credible 5th in the Junior discus.

These students invest a vast amount of time outside of school hours to train for these events and I commend them for their commitment which has certainly paid off.

Congratulations again and all the best to all the students from my local community who compete in a range of sports in this very high level competition.
