Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—I would like to acknowledge Warners Bay High school captain student Jazmine O'Brien, who was recognised with a Minister's Award for Excellence in Student Achievement at the 2024 NSW Public Education Awards. The Public Education Awards are an important opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the amazing work of our teachers, school communities and other staff who each day work together to bring out the best in our students. Jazmine has demonstrated commitment, passion and dedication to her studies and school community. Having represented Warners Bay High in a number of sports across various levels, and putting up her hand for a leadership role as school captain. Alongside her fellow Warners Bay High recipient and captain, Logan Romani, Jazmine spoke at the awards ceremony, highlighting what she has gained from her role as school captain. In her words, this includes "Connecting with different year groups, acting as a role model, being able to share her ideas and support others to achieve their goals through encouragement and connection." Bravo, Jazmine. What a worthy recipient—I wish you all the best for your HSC and your future studies!
