Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown)—When Kelly McNeil first joined Marine Rescue Lake Macquarie in 2016, not even she could have predicted how integral she would become to that outstanding organisation.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Kelly took on the role of membership officer and has worked incredibly hard over the course of the pandemic, bringing on twenty-four new trains and three transfer members.
This commitment above and beyond is why she was nominated as the Lake Mac Volunteer of the Year at the 2022 Lake Mac Awards. Kelly was named one of nine finalists for the award, which is given for outstanding community contribution.
By organising catch-up calls with new members and those experiencing stress or difficulties during the pandemic, Kelly has shown her extraordinary commitment to her members and to Marine Rescue Lake Macquarie.
Her nomination was well-earned, and she more than deserved his spot amongst the finalists. Congratulations, Kelly and the entire team at Marine Rescue Lake Macquarie.
