Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—We all know how fantastic and hard-working our emergency services personnel are. Their dedication, professionalism and commitment is reflected in the feedback I receive from my constituents, as when I recently heard from Ann Johnson of Kotara South about an experience she had with the men and women of Fire and Rescue NSW Station 255 Charlestown. Ann told me about a very small fire in her home which was quickly put out. Afterwards, at her neighbour's suggestion, she reported the fire to Charlestown Station. Her call was answered by in a clam, professional manner, and the firies arrived in no time at all. They performed a quick inspection, realised Ann needed new smoke detectors and immediately installed them in two rooms. They were also quick to notice that Ann's husband, Noel, was coughing badly. As Noel was at higher risk for complications from smoke inhalation, they recommended that an ambulance be called. This is the kind of work done by Fire and Rescue personnel all over the state, but it makes me so proud that Charlestown is home to such a great team. My thanks to the Charlestown Fire Station team.
