Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)— Charlestown Azzurri continued an absolutely stellar season at the Hunter Sports Centre on Saturday 10 June, where they squared off against Valentine FC.

With a goal scored in the thirty-ninth minute of the match, Azzurri's leading scorer Rene Ferguson helped the team secure a 1-0 lead they carried through to full time. This gives Charlestown ten wins out of fourteen games and puts them back on top of the Newcastle Premier League ladder with thirty-one points.

My congratulations to coach James Pascoe for leading his side through the season so far, to Rene for his goal, and for the team for playing such a great season. Their hard work and commitment is showing through on the pitch, and they're definitely doing our community proud.

There's still a fair bit of the season to go and I'm sure the best is yet to come from Charlestown's boys in blue. Forza Azzurri!
