Caoimhe Bray

Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—Today, I'd like to recognise the extraordinary achievements of Caoimhe Bray, a young sports sensation from Adamstown. At only 15 years old and a Year Nine student at St Pius Xavier High School, Caoimhe has made an impressive debut in the Women's Big Bash League for the Sydney Sixers. As the youngest player in Women's Big Bash League history, she made an immediate impact by delivering a victory over the Melbourne Renegades at Adelaide Oval, hitting the winning runs and showing remarkable poise under pressure. Her talent and potential have already earned her a well-deserved three‑year contract with the Sixers. Caoimhe's sporting accomplishments don't stop at cricket. She's also a talented goalkeeper with the Newcastle Jets and has proudly represented Australia with the Junior Matildas at the AFC Under-17 Asian Women's Cup in Bali. I'm incredibly proud to have such a dedicated and gifted young athlete from my area, and I look forward to cheering on Caoimhe as she continues what promises to be an outstanding sporting career.
