Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown)— Bryce Ham has emerged as one of Lake Macquarie's most active young citizens, and this was recognised when he was named a finalist for Lake Mac Young Citizen of the Year at the 2022 Lake Mac Awards.
I am always overjoyed at the commitment and dedication shown by young people on the issues that matter to them—and Bryce has proven time and time again that he's willing to put in the work to bring about change.
A resident of Gateshead, he organised local "School Strike 4 Climate" demonstrations, and his commitment to positive environmental policies saw him stand for Lake Macquarie City Council last year, even as he was sitting his HSC!
I have mentioned Bryce before in reference to his efforts to make COVID-19 information in Lake Macquarie, Newcastle and the Hunter available and accessible online. His COVID data-based Twitter account was an incredible resource for the community. Bryce is hoping to take his passion for the environment and data-driven design to his university studies in architecture and town planning. Congratulations, Bryce!
