Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—Today, I'm proud to recognise Abbie Smith for her outstanding work at Cardiff High School. Abbie's unwavering commitment to her students and the broader community is evident in everything she does, fostering a deep sense of culture, pride, and opportunity within the school. In her work at Cardiff High, Abbie has established an Indigenous dance group that shares the richness of Aboriginal culture, not only with Cardiff High but also with other schools. Abbie also organises key cultural events such as NAIDOC Week and Star Struck, bringing the whole school together to celebrate and learn. Abbie's mentorship extends far beyond the classroom, supporting Indigenous students in their HSC journey and helping some rise to leadership roles like School Captain. Her dedication to coaching sports, leading study groups, and assisting with after-school hubs uplifts students and strengthens the school community. Thank you, Abbie, for your incredible work in shaping and developing our future generations.
