Keeping our homes and communities safe from fire should be a top priority for any government, yet shockingly, after almost 8 years of neglect, the Liberals and Nationals have left NSW with fewer firefighters than when they took office.

Under the previous Labor Government, the total number of firefighters grew by more than 1000.

Under the Liberals and Nationals, the total number of firefighters has fallen by 71.

This is unacceptable.

Each year it gets hotter and drier making conditions more fire-prone, particularly in rural and regional NSW.

ALabor Government will hire an additional 200 firefighters across NSW.

My priority is making sure that our hard-working firefighters have the resources they need to keep us safe.
