In November 1989, Dawn Gilbert rallied together over 600 people who were outraged by the murder of her daughter Tracey, and the subsequent inadequacies of the criminal justice system in supporting victims of crime. Thanksto Dawns drive and determination, the Victims of Crime Assistance League Inc NSW was formed.
On Friday evening I was privileged to be able to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of VOCAL's work of empowering the victims of crime. It was a wonderful night, that rightly celebrated VOCAL's achievements. Congratulations!
You can find out more about VOCAl on their website here.
