Member for Charlestown, Jodie Harrison has welcomed her appointment as the Shadow Minister for Early Childhood Education in the new Shadow Cabinet announced today.
I am very honoured to have been offered a place in Jodi McKays new look Shadow cabinet. Ms Harrison said.
The early years of learning are the most important for learning. It is when the foundations for the future of our children are laid that take them through childhood, teenage years and ultimately into adulthood.
"I am passionate about doing what I can to make ourcommunity a better place to live and work in for our children and future generations.
Up until my election as Mayor, I worked as an organiser for United Voice on the Big Stepsin Early Childhood Education and Care campaign which fought to have early childhoodeducators receive proper recognition and wages for the very important work they do. And I will continue to fight for the rights of these workers.
I am also very proud to be part of a team of very talented people who are committed to NSW Labors priorities which is putting people first.
