As you may be aware, a Community Protest Meeting was held on 19 February to show the Minister for Transport that the transport system he signed off on is hurting our community.
The meeting was a great success, with a turnout of approximately 1000 people. That turnout reinforced what my staff and I have been hearing very clearly from the community- that the system introduced at the beginning of the year is simply not working for the vast majority of Charlestown electorate commuters.
Together, community members and local representatives called on the Minister and Premier toconduct a thorough, transparent, consultative review of Newcastle and Lake Macquaries new bus system.
Still, the NSW Government has refused to conduct an urgent review of the network.
Following on from this event, a public rally will held in Hamilton. I invite you to attend, to show your support for our campaign to restore our bus services.
We need to further demonstrate to the NSW Government that the service is totally unacceptable.
When: Sunday 18 March, at 10.30am
Where: Gregson Park, Hamilton
Please RSVP to my office on 4942 1242 by Friday 16 March 2018.
I look forward to seeing you there!
