Over the past twenty years, Hillsborough Road which joins Charlestown with Warners Bay and the western side of Lake Macquarie has become an increasingly busy thoroughfare. There has been, and continues to be, calls for Hillsborough Rd to be dual lane in both directions from parts of the community.

Pedestrians and motorists, particularly residents,are sick of risking their lives everyday at the Chadwick Street intersection.

It's not only dangerous, but it takes them far too long to leave their suburb in the morning.

I have recently obtained the Draft Lake Macquarie Transport Network Study, which recommends upgrades to this intersection as a short term funding priority.

In light of the upcoming 2018/19 State Budget, myself and the Shadow Minister for Roads Jodie McKay met with residents to call on the Minister for Roads and the Treasurer to allocate sufficient for funding
